1. Applicability of the General Terms and Conditions of Sale
1.1 Orders placed through the Carob World Portugal Lda online store, registered at EN 125, Sítio do Rio Seco, 8005-528 Faro, Portugal, VAT No. 513 664 556, are governed by these General Terms and Conditions of Sale. These Terms apply to the exclusion of all other conditions. By placing an order, you acknowledge that you have read, understood and accepted these General Terms and Conditions of Sale without reservation.
1.2 By using this website and online store, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy. Carob World recommends that you read this Policy before using the services provided on this website.
1.3 Carob World reserves the right to amend these Terms at any time. Customers will be subject to the Terms in force at the time their order is placed, unless any amendment is required by law or by a competent authority.
1.4 Certain services available through the online store are provided by third-party companies contracted for that purpose, including the transportation of purchased goods.
2. Use of the Online Store
2.1 By using the Online Store and/or placing orders through it, the Customer undertakes to provide the required information (email address, postal address and/or other contact details) and warrants that such information is accurate, in accordance with our Personal Data Processing Information.
2.2 By agreeing to these Terms of Service, you declare that you are at least the age of majority in your country or region of residence and that you have given us your consent to allow any of your minor dependants to use the Services on devices that you own, purchase or manage.
2.3 You are solely responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity carried out under your account. You may not transfer, sell, assign or licence your account to any other person.
3. Pricing Policy
3.1 All prices displayed in the Online Store include VAT at the rate applicable at the time of purchase. Shipping and transport costs are not included and are calculated automatically according to the size of the order, delivery destination and selected shipping method.
3.2 Carob World reserves the right to amend its prices and shipping charges at any time, as well as to cancel a contract where insufficient or incorrect information has been provided.
4. Payment
4.1 All prices include VAT at the applicable legal rate. No discounts shall apply unless previously agreed in writing between the parties.
4.2 We accept payments by Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, PayPal and Multibanco.
5. Order Confirmation
5.1 Carob World reserves the right to refuse orders, particularly where there are reasonable grounds to suspect fraudulent activity.
5.2 The records maintained by Carob World constitute conclusive evidence of the order and the completed transaction.
5.3 The records maintained by the payment service provider constitute legal proof of the financial transactions.
6. Delivery
6.1 Orders are dispatched within two working days of payment confirmation, subject to product availability.
6.2 Once your order has been dispatched, you will receive an email containing your shipment details and tracking information.
6.3 If, for any reason, the Customer is unable to receive the order, they should contact Carob World to discuss an alternative delivery arrangement.
7. Inspection of Goods
7.1 The Customer is responsible for checking the quantity and condition of the goods upon delivery.
7.2 If any damage or missing items are identified, the Customer must report the matter to the carrier and notify Carob World within 14 days of delivery.
8. Returns
8.1 Carob World does not accept returns of products from Customers.
8.2 Where non-conformities are identified, the damaged product will be replaced.
8.3 The Customer has the right to withdraw from this contract within 14 calendar days without giving any reason. The withdrawal period expires 14 days from the day after the Customer receives the product.
To exercise the right of withdrawal, the Customer must inform Carob World of their decision to withdraw from this contract by means of a clear statement (for example, by post, by email, or by using the model withdrawal form – Annex 1), sent to:

9. Limitation of Liability
9.1 The texts and photographs used to illustrate and describe the products on this website and Online Store are provided for information purposes only and do not form part of any contractual agreement.
9.2 Regardless of the nature of any claim—whether relating to delivered products, non-delivery or any other matter—the maximum amount recoverable shall not exceed the purchase price of the products to which the claim relates, subject to applicable law.
9.3 Carob World shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss or damage of any kind arising from the use or sale of products purchased through this website or Online Store, even where Carob World has been advised of the possibility of such damage.
9.4 Carob World expressly excludes all liability for any loss or damage suffered by the Customer arising from any breach of these General Terms and Conditions of Sale, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
9.5 By completing the online purchase process, the Customer confirms that they have read, understood and accepted the information provided regarding the ingredients and allergens of the products.
10. Alternative Dispute Resolution
Consumers may choose to submit disputes to a Consumer Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) entity.

11. Force Majeure
11.1 Carob World will make every reasonable effort to fulfil its obligations. However, Carob World shall not be liable for delays or failure to deliver goods caused by circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to strikes, war, natural disasters or any other event preventing the production, transportation or delivery of products.
12. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
12.1 These General Terms and Conditions of Sale and the use of this website and Online Store shall be governed by Portuguese law. The parties agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts of the District of Faro.
